Potato stamp fun today. To cut back on the insanity, I cut out the stamps before the kids got up from their nap. I’m not sure about how to format on the device I’m using, so I apologize for just a straight line of pictures!

Salt Glitter Part 2: Our Ugly Creations
See how to make the salt glitter.
Here’s what we did with ours:
-
- Grab some paper, glue, and your salt glitter.
-
- Probably a good idea for mom to have wipes, coffee, and a broom handy.
-
- Draw designs on the paper with glue. Let the older ones do their own.

- Mommy gets to make one too.
-
- Sprinkle the salt glitter liberally onto the glue.
-
- Let the kids go for it!
-
- Let the kids REALLY go for it.

- Dump the excess back into the glitter bowl. Let dry!

- Dump excess and admire a job well done.
Sweep up the mess. Then, see that the colors dry very ugly and resolve to just buy glitter. We had fun though!

Baking Soda Clay Fun

- Gather up your ingredients: baking soda, corn starch, water, and food coloring

- Put the starch, soda, and water in a pot

- Stir it together and heat over low (medium low) heat
-
- Keep stirring and cooking until it starts to look like mashed potatoes

- It’s done when it looks like dough
-
- Knead the dough using more corn starch (and flour if you like).

- Knead in a few drops of color if you like. I separated mine into small balls and colored them separately.

- Play with the clay and make shapes!
-
- Get really excited about figures in the oven
-
- Heat the oven to 350 and turn off. Let the figures dry overnight (or longer if yours are big and thick like ours).
